Everett, Wash., February 5, 2018 – Fluke Networks announced its market-leading Versiv Cabling Certification System now supports Legrand’s family of Clarity cords and high density jacks and Superior Essex Communications’ LP PowerWise cabling products. The combined PowerWise and Clarity system is designed to provide superior performance for power over Ethernet (PoE), including the IEEE 802.3bt draft 3.0 standard.

This new capability extends Fluke Networks as the only provider of certification products and services in the structured cabling industry with the capability to test and certify all IEEE standards and requirements for 802.3bt PoE installations worldwide.

“As the industry leader we are on the ground floor working with other companies and experts in the industry in developing new network standards and requirements,” said Harley Lang, RCDD, Global Marketing Director for Fluke Networks. “Our Versiv products have always had the capability and flexibility to test a cabling system’s ability to support PoE. As a result, Fluke Networks is ready to support innovative manufacturers like Legrand and Superior Essex as they roll out cutting edge network products for PoE and other standards.”

PoE is becoming the preferred method to deliver power and data simultaneously to endpoints connecting the multitude of power efficient and PoE-specific computing systems and smart devices, which are starting to roll out from technology companies to serve businesses and enterprise organizations as well as those serving consumer technologies.

“PowerWise + Clarity is the ultimate solution for 4PPoE Applications, offering enhanced reliability and energy efficiency”, said Gary Hess, VP Innovation, Legrand.

“With support built into Fluke Networks Versiv testers, contractors and installers can expand their service offerings immediately – this will be key as the number of PoE installations continues to increase in 2018.”, said Will Byran, vice president, marketing and technology, Superior Essex.

Legrand’s line of Clarity cords and connectors combined with Superior Essex PowerWise cable provide excellent performance for 802.3bt PoE, which can provide up to 100 Watts of power to an endpoint. This can power monitors, displays, pan and zoom cameras and video security systems, speakers, building alarms and sensors, security and lock systems, and even PC’s– without separate AC cabling for power. With the evolving machine-to-machine, internet-of-things, and transcendent PoE technologies, PoE holds a great deal of promise for network systems and the businesses and organizations that depend on them.
